Netbooks - Subnotebook computers
The first time I laid my eyes on the Asus EEE, I thought it was the coolest thing in the world. A bigger keyboard and screen than a Blackberry, iPhone or any other phone or PDA. I have a number of people in sales asking my advice on the devices.
The non-geek is probably gonna want to stay away from the netbooks that run Linux. I am a huge fan of Linux, but if you do not know what you are doing, and are either unwilling to or don’t have the time learn how to make things you can with a snap in Windows, like getting a WiFi adapter to work in Linux, then I would recommend going to something with Windows XP. I would also recommend getting one with an Intel Atom processor.
If you should fee so inclined, many of these devices can be hooked to to a larger monitor, keyboard and mouse.
It is unlikely you are going to be able to replace your computer with a netbook, unless you use your computer to get on the Internet, send emails and maybe use one import program.
I’ve included a list of netbooks for your reading/viewing pleasure.
