Just Ask Phil

Well, I just got the official word. The WGA’s membership has agreed to end the strike. Soon, they should be rejoining the late night shows and their hosts. It will take about two to six weeks for scripted programs to return. Some won’t return till next season, if at all.

I can understand the concerns of the writers, but the word of media is changing far beyond limited selection that big media outlets deliver to us.

The Internet has made it easy and cheap for independents to give us fresh and unrestricted content. There are even mechanisms to support these projects - Google ads, other affiliate ads and t-shirt sales.

My hope as an independent producer of media is that consumers of entertainment and information will continue to look towards the web to fulfill those needs and wants.
